Bits And Bytes And Freebies

INTRODUCTION TO FREEWARE

The Internet provides a wealth of free software and services and as long as some basic safety and copyright rules are followed they can help to enrich your experience be it by providing the latest free-ware for a multitude of uses to having the pleasure of listening to free and original music using the Creative Commons license.

Ubuntu comes complete with it's own media players that more than rival what Windows has to offer. In fact many of the programs that are used in Windows are "cross platform" with an equivalent available in any distribution of Linux. Long gone are the days when Linux was only for geeks. Millions of PC users run it and they are very happy to do so. I think that VLC is an outstanding media player for both Linux and Windows.

You might already have some free-ware on your PC. I hope that my listings contribute to even more for you to use.

Do think about giving Ubuntu, Linux a try. No more getting software from disreputable sites. Every kind of program to meet your needs is down-loadable from virus free repositories. Installing any of these programs on your computer is simplicity itself.

I used to make use of all the software that I have listed and as such I can vouch for their efficacy and that they are without any strings attached. I hope that you get as much enjoyment from some of them as I did.

Ubuntu Linux is now my operating system and to my delight the range of free software is absolutely massive. For everything that Windows has to offer Ubuntu offers much more, of the highest quality and usability.  As a finale Ubuntu and Windows can easily be installed on the same computer. This gives plenty of opportunity to see which is the best!

LOCATION

This photograph is of a place called Pennington Flash near Leigh, Lancashire in the North West of England. The Flash is home to a great many types of birds which are very tame and unafraid of people, as a result they are very well fed! We live quite near to the Flash in an area called Westleigh. Leigh used to be a predominately industrialised town with mining at it's core. The mines and most of the heavy industries are long since gone.
