SAFE AND SECURE PROXY PROVIDER - JONDO
I have tried out various ways to secure my privacy whilst browsing the web but I found that most of the methods I have used led to my being very disappointed. A check on the proxy servers found that many of them were downright dangerous being breeding grounds for viruses and other assorted nasties.
The few that I found to be "clean" were invariably slow and the promise of privacy was illusory and it could not be guaranteed.
I all but gave up on trying to ward off the intrusive websites and other assorted interlopers when I chanced upon JonDo. At first JonDo seemed to be too good to be true. I can only say with absolute candor that after a long period of putting it through it's paces that it delivers on it's promise to allow safe, secure private browsing.
The mechanism that it uses is to mix each individual user on it's servers in such a way that the IP address of each is made to become anonymous. There is no way that those providing the transits can tell what information is being fed through their system. This ensures the maximum amount of privacy and it stymies those who are phishing for your valuable private information such as bank account details etc.
There is no charge for using the basic system however the premium service can be utilized for payment of a fee. I have found that the basic service more than meets my needs by giving me peace of mind when visiting my banks website or the numerous other sites that hold confidential information and I am very impressed with the speed that is attained.
The
service providers recommend that their version of the Firefox browser
be used. They have named the browser Jondofox and it is set up to
achieve the maximum degree of protection against prying eyes. A site is
provided for testing out the degree of anonymity that has been achieved,
this allows for any tweaking that might be desired.
I
read a report on a reputable web site which said that JonDo was
notoriously difficult to set up. I have not found that this is the case
as long as the set up instructions are carefully followed. It is really
just like any other piece of software. Care should always be taken to
act on the instructions that are given. If you choose to install
JonDofox then it is simplicity itself! All the hard work has been done
for you.
If you want to give JonDo a try I can assure you that you will probably be pleasantly surprised by the results. In the meantime give the IP tracer below a try to see just how vulnerable you are without the use of JonDo.
Please note that applications requiring Java or Flash do not run when using JonDo. This is because both of these leave you open to being traced. There is more detailed information about this on the JonDo website. When not using JonDo via Firefox I use either Firefox without the JonDo proxy or alternatively the Ubuntu Linux Chromium browser.
